Adeline Santello, recently graduated from Syracuse University, with a BFA in theatre design and technology and a concentration in costumes. She grew up outside of Boston and has always had a love for shows and creating clothes. That merged into a path in costume design.

She has long been interested in the psychological aspects of costume design. One of her favorite parts of the process is breaking down a character’s backstory with the director and actors.

She has an understanding of clothing creation, having learned to use a sewing machine at age ten, and has since taken many classes in garment construction. Beyond fabric garments, she specializes in using non-traditional materials such as paper to create wearable pieces—she credits her love of Project Runway for that.

Currently she is a costume design assistant at The Juilliard School in the proffessional apprentice program.
